“I’m sure Museveni will not ease the lockdown,” says Lukwago

Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago has claimed that Ugandan government totally has no plan of opening up the country very soon as they have done nothing during the 42 days lockdown to prevent the threat of the third wave of COVID-19.
The 42 lockdown days that were announced by President Yoweri Museveni are elapsing this Friday July 30. Lukwago anticipates Museveni will add more days.
“Only Mr Museveni knows what he will dream about and tells Ugandans,” says Lukwago.
According to Lukwago, the world is focusing on mass vaccination and as for Ugandan government they are only waiting for donations.
He cautions government on extending lockdown as he anticipates it will do more harm than good.
“Whenever you imprison someone, you must feed them. But government wants to keep its people in lockdown with no food.
As of today, the businesses have completely collapsed and it will greatly affect the economy. Mr Museveni and his government totally have no plans to help the situation,” he says.
He urges Ugandans to this time round stand against the continued locking down of the country without plan.
Museveni is set to address the country on Saturday, July 31 and he is expected to give a way forward in the fight against the pandemic.
