Kagadi district is at risk of losing over 4500 Dozes of Covid-19 Astrazeneca Vaccination Drug to expiration by July, after Publics' failure to turn up for Vaccination.

This was revealed last evening by the Kagadi district Health Department during a Covid-19 Vaccination Stake Holder's Advocate Meeting held at DEMU Hotel in Kagadi town council being organized by Kagadi district local government in collaboration with Baylor Uganda and World Health organization.

Addressing Participants on behalf of Dr. Oluwo James the Kagadi district Health Officer, Mr. Paul Bahinzi said the category of people selected for vaccination have failed to show up.

According to Bahinzi ,Only 799Dozes (15%) have been utilized out of  5330 total Dozes of Covid-19 Vaccine that were sent to Kagadi district.

He is alarming members of the public to rush to the respective vaccination centers to receive the Jab.

Addressing Participants, Mr.Tom Odoi, the Baylor Uganda Project Officer for Risk Communication said they have deliberately intervened to assist the government of Uganda through the Ministry of Health in sensitizing Citizens to embrace the exercise of Covid -19 Vaccine.

Meanwhile in his remarks, Hon. Ndibwami B Yosia the Kagadi District LC5 boss has overwhelmingly thanked Baylor Uganda and World Health organization for their deliberate intervention in fighting covid-19 diseases out of the district.

He has pledged his voluntary commitment of being a lead ambassador of advocating for Covid -19 Vaccination  throughout the district by taking his Jab before the close of this week, with optimism that this will attract other members of the public to the to also turn up.

  Parents block Kasokero P/S HM from accessing school premises over drunkenness 10th Jan,2022 Kagadi As schools reopened today across the country, Parents of Kasokero government aided Primary school in Kyenzige town council Kagadi district blocked the school head teacher from accessing the school premises accusing him of incompetence. Parents accuse Peace Tumwine of being a drunkard thus neglecting school duties. The situation was brought to calm by the Kagadi District Education Officer who asked parents to put their concern into writing demanding for transfer of the head teacher. RIFT VALLEY FEVER KILLS ONE IN KAGADI KAGADI:  One person has died of rift valley fever in Kagadi district. Lillian Ruteraho the resident district commissioner Kagadi has identified the deceased as Justus Mugisa 34, a resident of Kibuku village in Ntoroko district. Speaking at the emergency meeting held today {Thursday} at Kagadi district headquarters, Ruteraho disclosed that the deceased has been a cattle keeper in Mabaale Sub County in Kagadi district. She has asked residents to be vigilant and calls for maximum cooperation in order to curb the outbreak. ‘’We should be vigilant and cooperate to curb the outbreak,’’ Rutereho asked.
