 Average turn up of learners registered as schools reopen

There was average turn up of students in the schools across Kagadi district today 10th January, 2022 School’s reopening after schools were closed in June 2021 to contain the spread of covid-19.

In all the schools visited by KBS radio this afternoon, the average turn up of students was ranging from 30% to 65% and the standard operating procedures(SOPs) were being implemented.

In most visited schools, parents were also seen accompanying their children to schools and teachers were present busy teaching learners.

In Buyaga East, at Kagadi SS aka Musoil there was 60% turn up, Kagadi modal P/S 50% turn up, Fountain of hope aka London college SS 65% turn up,Kagadi People’s SS 40% turn up and at Bunyoro college SS there was moderate turn up.

St Joseph’s Primary school Kahunde registered a 30% turn up, Kahunde P/S 50% turn up, Kihemba Summit 50% turn up, United parents P/S 70% turn up, United progressive School Kyanaisoke 60% turn up.

At Naigana Secondary school 70% turn up was registered.


Meanwhile in Buyaga west, At Omukama ruhanga owobusobozi Bisaka Itambiro SS Kyarubaija, 50% turn up was registered, Muhorro modal P/S 50% turn up,Trust way schools Muhorro 50% turn up, Clever land SS Nyamiti 40 % turn up, Muhorro Muslim modal P/S  65% turn up, and 29.6% turn up at Muhorro BCS P/S.

Still in Buyaga west, Kyaterekera SDA SS, Kyaterekera parents, St. Peter’s P/S Kitumba and St. Francis SS Kyaterekera all received average number of students on the first day of reporting.

  Parents block Kasokero P/S HM from accessing school premises over drunkenness 10th Jan,2022 Kagadi As schools reopened today across the country, Parents of Kasokero government aided Primary school in Kyenzige town council Kagadi district blocked the school head teacher from accessing the school premises accusing him of incompetence. Parents accuse Peace Tumwine of being a drunkard thus neglecting school duties. The situation was brought to calm by the Kagadi District Education Officer who asked parents to put their concern into writing demanding for transfer of the head teacher.
