A 27year old man committed suicide by hanging.

Residents of Katikara Sub County in Kakumiro district have been engulfed with shock and grief after a 27year old man committed suicide by hanging.

The deceased has been identified as Robert Asaba, a resident of Kasambya LCI in Katikara Sub County.

The deceased’s body was found hanging in a mango tree at parents’ home yesterday morning at around 10am.

In an interview with our reporter, the mother to the deceased who preferred anonymity narrated that her son had demonic spirits and severally he has been threatening to cut short his life.

She adds that before the tragedy, the deceased asked her to take care of his children.

John Ssebaka, the LCI chairperson for Kasambya Village says the deceased was a good and humble resident but a drunkard.

Meanwhile, Everest Kabagambe the Katikara sub county LCIII chairperson and Jackson Mutyaba, the sub county speaker urged locals to always consult friends for advice before taking such terrible decisions and to minimize on boozing.

Nettl Media has learnt that the deceased is the third person to commit suicide on the same land.

The deceased survived with four children and by press time, Katikara police had already reached the scene.
