Members of the public have abandoned Kagadi Hospital
facility for medical services for of being contracted by the deadly Pandemic Covid-19,
after hearing news of its health Workers testing positive
This was as of today morning during an investigative
survey conducted by KBS radio reporter at Kagadi Hospital in which most of the
Patient Wards were found almost empty, as compared to the previous normal days
when the facility is filled to capacity.
By press time, the male Ward only had 3 patients yet on normal days its
occupied with over 15 patients, where as the children / Pediatric ward was
found with about 5 patients yet on
normal days its occupied with over 25 patients and to our surprise the Out- patient
ward which on normal days is always a bee- hive of activities, was found with only
about six people.
However when Approached on the Matter, Mr. Simon
Peter Tumusiime the Kagadi Hospital Administrator said that they are also
surprised upon the absence of patients in the wards, yet the facility is always
open to public 24 hours.
Mr. Simon has on the other hand attributed the development to the recent news in which over 10 health workers attached to their facility were tested Covid-19 positive ,thus appealing members of the public to turn up for medical services.
Also When Approached at his Office over the same Matter, the Kagadi district Health Officer Dr. Oluwo James has said that its true some of their staff tested Covid-19 positive, and eventually that could be the reason that members of the public have based on to shun the facility services, and is optimistic that they are may be getting the same health services from other local level healthy centers.
Meanwhile speaking Kaceri TV UG , Ms.Lilian Ruteraho the Kagadi RDC and Chairperson Covid -19 task force said that to them in authority, it is as a blessing in disguise for members of the public to shun the facility ,asserting that this makes them more safe than coming at the facility to cure Malaria and end up being caught up by Covid-19 .
