Kagadi District records two new COVID-19 case, Kibaale one

Kagadi

Kagadi district has confirmed two new covod-12 cases.

In a short interview on phone with Kagadi Hospital medical Superintendent Dr. Gregory Kaijamurubi told KBS radio that all the two patients are health workers t Kagadi general Hospital.

He said the confirmed cases were identified last evening and today in the samples that were tested last week.

Patients who identities have not been disclosed are in isolation receiving treatment.

The district health officer Kagadi Dr. James Oluwo appealed to the general public to take the SOPs serious since the second wave of COVID-19 that has hit the country is graver than the first wave.

Meanwhile Kibaale District Health department has also confirmed one new COVID 19 case as the country continues to grapple with the virus surge.

Godfrey Timbihurira, the District Health Officer for Kibaale district in an interview with Kaceri tv ug reporter today confirmed that the current case was registered yesterday and is currently under isolation for advanced medication.

Dr Timbihurira has called for community vigilance regarding the COVID-19 signs and as well observe Standard Operating Procedures in order to curb down the spread of the virus.

RIFT VALLEY FEVER KILLS ONE IN KAGADI KAGADI: One person has died of rift valley fever in Kagadi district. Lillian Ruteraho the resident district commissioner Kagadi has identified the deceased as Justus Mugisa 34, a resident of Kibuku village in Ntoroko district. Speaking at the emergency meeting held today {Thursday} at Kagadi district headquarters, Ruteraho disclosed that the deceased has been a cattle keeper in Mabaale Sub County in Kagadi district. She has asked residents to be vigilant and calls for maximum cooperation in order to curb the outbreak. ‘’We should be vigilant and cooperate to curb the outbreak,’’ Rutereho asked. Average turn up of learners registered as schools reopen 10th Jan,2022 Kagadi There was average turn up of students in the schools across Kagadi district today 10 th January, 2022 School’s reopening after schools were closed in June 2021 to contain the spread of covid-19. In all the schools visited by KBS radio this afternoon, the average turn up of students was ranging from 30% to 65% and the standard operating procedures(SOPs) were being implemented. In most visited schools, parents were also seen accompanying their children to schools and teachers were present busy teaching learners.
