Arrested CID Boss Faces Prosecution For Defying Museveni
The Officer charge Criminal Investigations at Kira Police Division will face prosecution for defying presidential directive on halting illegal land evictions during the Covid-19 lockdown.
Mulema Maliserino was arrested last night for allege extortion and involvement in a missing file worth shillings 2 billion.
Other accusations against Mulema is that he was working with a habitual land grabber, Hezekiah Mukiibi and a UPDf officer identified as Kigula Hannington.
Mulema is also accused of conniving with Kigula and Mukiibi to cause an illegal land eviction on bibanja holders in Kira Kito.
According to our source, the said eviction destroyed crops belonging to Semakula Yusuf. The crops, sources say were ready for harvest.
Earlier, President Yoweri Museveni, the Judiciary and Lands Minister, Judith Nabakooba warned against illegal land evictions during the just concluded 42 days of lockdown that was aimed at containing the spread of Covid-19.
Mulema is currently being detained at a heavily guarded Railway Police Station as he awaits prosecution
